  • What classes do you certify under?

We provide certification training for boom lift, forklift, scissor lift, and telehandler operations. Don't hesitate to reach out to schedule your boom and scissor lift training today.
  • How soon would we receive our certification cards?

Your certification cards will be issued the same day once training is complete, provided you've registered for the class and passed all required training. Whether you've been looking for boom lift or forklift training classes, our team is here to help. Call today!
  • How far will you travel to teach?

For our forklift or boom and scissor lift training services, we primarily serve southern Minnesota, western Wisconsin, and eastern Iowa, though we often travel further. Call Tri-State Safety today to see if we can accommodate your needs.
  • What are typical class sizes?

Our standard class sizes range from 10 to 15 participants, though we can adjust to accommodate smaller or larger groups as needed.
  • What regions and specific areas do you provide your on-site safety training services for businesses?

We provide equipment training throughout Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Our experienced instructors travel directly to your facility or job site, making it easy to train your operators without sending your team off-site. While these states are our focus, we are happy to travel outside of our normal service area when needed. We work around your schedule and provide classroom and hands-on instruction to help your employees operate equipment safely and confidently.
  • Can we schedule both aerial and material handling certifications on the same day to minimize our team downtime?

Yes! Our flexible scheduling allows us to provide up to two courses in a single day. This means your team can complete multiple certifications, such as M.E.W.P. and telehandler training during the same visit. By combining courses, we provide consistent, hands-on instruction while minimizing time away from your employees’ regular duties. All training is OSHA and ANSI compliant and designed to keep your operators, occupants, and supervisors safe and confident on the job.
  • Are your certification courses fully compliant with the latest workplace safety standards required by regulatory bodies?

Absolutely. All of our courses, including forklift, telehandler, and mobile elevated work platform training, are designed to meet current OSHA and ANSI standards. Our training focuses on proper equipment operation, safety procedures, and hazard recognition, giving your team the knowledge and skills needed to operate equipment safely and confidently.
  • How long does it typically take to receive our certification credentials after successfully completing a course?

Once all required coursework and hands-on assessments have been successfully completed, trainees receive their certification cards at the end of the training day, right at your facility. There’s no waiting weeks for paperwork to arrive. Our goal is to make the entire training process impactful and robust and at the same time simple and efficient, so your team can get back to work with a safer mind set and the proper credentials in hand.
  • What does the hands-on portion of your equipment operation course actually involve for our onsite workers?

The hands-on portion gives your workers the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to safely operate the equipment in a real-world setting. Under the guidance of our trainer, operators perform key tasks such as equipment inspections, proper start-up and shutdown procedures, maneuvering, positioning, and operating emergency systems. Whenever possible, we recommend training on your own equipment. This provides the most practical and effective training by allowing operators to learn on the machines they will actually use on the job. The assessment verifies that each operator can apply what they learned and operate the equipment safely and confidently before certification is issued.
  • Do you provide specialized instruction for job site supervisors and platform occupants, or only for equipment operators?

Yes. Our training is not limited to equipment operators. OSHA requires employers to ensure that supervisors and other personnel involved with aerial equipment understand their responsibilities and applicable safety procedures. Ground personnel and platform occupants should also understand the equipment’s capabilities, controls, limitations, and emergency features. In the event of an incident at height, having properly trained personnel on the ground who know how to respond can be just as important as having a trained operator on the platform. Our training helps ensure everyone involved understands their role and can contribute to a safer work environment.
  • What is the typical turnaround time for scheduling a specialized safety instruction course at our business location?

We offer flexible scheduling and work hard to accommodate your timeline. Depending on availability and your training needs, we can often schedule training within a week of your request. We understand that taking employees away from their regular duties can impact your operation, so we make every effort to find a convenient time and keep the process as efficient as possible.
